Icebear and cub I wanted to capture the glasslike quality of the piece – the transparency, so have used charcoal and grey coloured pencils on black paper. I have gathered a good variety of writing objects and different types of paper for observing the qualities of my collection.
So the circle of nature is represented by the sunflower seeds and the homemade bun – I thought it appropriate that the tiniest element got the largest sheet of paper, so here are a few snapshots from the process. A variety of textures, pencils, pens, coloured pencils, charcoal and a use of glasses to look at the details. The bun was also part of the sketches, but was eaten in the end 🙂
It took me a while to get started on the Introductory Project, party due to my day job with a lot of accounting deadlines coming up to July 1, but also my own process. The initial belief in start-up of this course, the new direction, the joy and enthusiasm was followed by doubt with regards to time, age and the possibility of happiness in learning.
